Oppo is all ready to unveil the most awaited sequel to it’s Oppo Realme which launched earlier this year. Apparently, Oppo is launching the second-gen Realme this coming August 28. Just about 4 months after the Realme 1 was announced. We don’t know the idea behind this, but 4 months is a very short time to penetrate the Indian market. This could also result to price markdowns for the Realme 1, which is still a very new handset.
The Flipkart ad was first noticed by Smartprix, which screen captured it and expose it to the public. The ad has placed the exact launch date of the device along with some major specifications. It will feature the ever-popular notched 6.2-inch HD+ display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. The aspect ratio is 19:9 so expect it to be taller and narrower than its competitions like the Nokia 6.1. The base model has a storage configuration of 3GB/32GB. Users can also opt for a higher 4GB/64GB combo. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB though.
At the back, the Oppo Realme 2 employs a pair of 13-megapixel primary sensor paired with the 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera. On the front, there’s the 8-megapixel camera for selfies with “AI Beautification”. It sounds pretty much like the Oppo A5, only without the huge Oppo logo (only a small Oppo logo at the back, down on the middle). If you’re getting Oppo’s strategy, good for you!
What differs from the Oppo A5 though is the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor. It resides at the back like on most of the smartphones today. The handset will run on Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 upon the launch and includes a higher battery capacity than the Oppo Realme 1 at 4230mAh.
The following is a spec comparison between Oppo Realme 1, Oppo Realme 2, and Oppo A5:
