Xiaomi is that brand name which comes into mind when we talk about mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones equipped with all latest tech. Besides the Chinese smartphone company has a staunch following in certain Asian sub-continent for its previous co-brand Redmi. However, now Redmi is now independent of Xiaomi and will continue releasing its own line of devices.
We already know the 7th generation of Note series was in the pipeline. Finally, the Redmi Note 7 has now gone official. As of now, the smartphone is available in China for Pre-order. Apparently, there is no info on its international launch. We will discuss in brief about its official specs, price and everything else. Earlier we did share a Geekbench listing of Redmi Note 7. It provided a sneak-peek of the hardware setup of the phone.
Redmi Note 7 Specifications
Though Xiaomi targets the budget buyers, it always strives to develop its devices according to modern technology with each device release. This is evident from the tech specs of the Redmi Note 7. The main attraction of the device is the massive camera setup. The rear camera comes with a massive 48 MP lens which makes use of the Samsung GM1 sensor. The 48 MP lens teams up with a 5MP depth sensor and brings features such as Super Night Mode, Quad Bayer filter, and 4-in-1 pixel binning for low-light photos.
Now coming to the front-facing camera, there is a demotion in the setup as compared to its precursors. The selfie shooter in Redmi Note 7 is 13 MP and there is only this single lens on the front end.
We already know from previous leaks that the device will run Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 interface. It sports the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset which is an impressive improvement from the previous device in the Note series. Talking about the memory, the phone will come with 3 GB, 4 GB, and 6 GB variants. The device storage will have two options for 32 GB and 64 GB for each RAM combo, which is expandable with a micro SD card.
Today we keep seeing smartphones sport no less than 6-inches of the display. Note 7 from Redmi sticks to this fact and brings a 6.3-inches IPS LCD display with 2380 x 1080 full HD+ resolution. Of course, when we speak of the budget price tag, LCD is all we get. Anything remotely OLED will take the price high-up. The display gets its shielding from Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The display cutout AKA notch continues to mark its presence on the Note 7. This time the device follows a waterdrop notch system.
Keeping an eye to the modern day requirements, Redmi Note 7 comes equipped with the modern USB Type-C port and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4 for fast charging. To carry out a whole it packs sufficient juice in the form of 4000 mAh battery, which is more than enough to take you through a day of power.
