MIUI 10 Global ROM for Mi Mix 3 is now available for download!

While the Xioami Mi Mix 3 won’t be available globally until Q1 2019, users outside China can now finally install the MIUI 10 Global ROM. Thanks to XDA Developers which provided the link for download. This is a huge relief to those who imported the phone outside China, as the Chinese ROM that comes with it is somewhat unsuitable beyond the boundaries.

The image size is large at 1.7GB. The build is based on Android 9.0 Pie and does include the usual Google Play apps and services, as well as more languages more than English and Mandarin. The MIUI 10 Global ROM also comes with the ability to launch the Google Assistant via the AI button. The ROM is available in a link below and is flashable via TWRP. Note that the bootloader of the device should be unlocked to install the ROM. XDA Developers also recommends not to relock the bootloader after installation as it will cause some serious issues.

Download the ROM here.

Users who do not wish to flash the MIUI 10 Global ROM but want to enable Google Assistant on their phone, either need root access or ADB command to disable the AI app. This XDA thread contains all the information.

The Xioami Mi Mix 3 was announced last October, with a price tag at only about EUR 560. It features a 6.39-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display at 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The bezel-less HDR-ready display does have a Corning Gorilla glass for protection. Although the company didn’t specify what version it is.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the device with up to 10GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage.

For the imaging, both the dual rear-facing cameras were 12-megapixels. One has a wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, while the other has a telephoto lens. The primary wide-angle lens can record 4K up to 60fps, and 1080p up to 960fps. For the front, the device features a mechanical pop-up dual-camera. One is a 24-megapixel sensor, the other is a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It can also record videos in 1080p, but only up to 30fps.

Keeping the lights on is a decent 3200mAh battery, with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+.
