Vivo has officially announced its latest ‘Z’ series phone, the Vivo Z3, in Beijing, China. The device which comes equipped with a powerful hardware together with a pleasing design, making it a competitive mid-ranger in its price range.
Design & Display
The Vivo Z3 is fitted with a large 6.3-inch FHD+ display, that has an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display boasts a tiny ‘water drop’ notch at the top, that should help it achieve a decent screen-to-body ratio, nearly up to 90%. At the back, the phone is covered by a layer of glass, that has a 3D micro-arc design with a reflective mirror finish. Additionally, the phone sports a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grills and a Micro USB port at the bottom.
For performance, the Vivo Z3 comes with two CPU variants– the base model with 4GB RAM is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC, while the other two top models with whopping 6GB of RAM are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. The phone has two storage configuration, which are 64GB or 128GB. In addition, the phone comes equipped with Vivo’s own ‘Dual-Turbo technology, with an aim of enhancing gaming experience and provide a smoother interface.
In terms of camera department, the Vivo Z3 does have a dual camera setup like its predecessor. It has a rear 16MP + 2MP AI dual camera setup, that include features like AI scene recognition. On the front is a 12MP selfie shooter, equipped with AI smart beauty. It is worth mentioning that the front camera is integrated with an Infrared sensor, in order to access facial recognition feature.
The Vivo Z3 is pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo, along with Vivo’s own Funtouch OS. Software features include Jovi intelligent voice assistant, 4D game shock and so on. The phone is fueled by a 3315 mAh battery, supported by dual-engine flash charging technology.
Pricing, Color variants, Availability
Vivo Z3 is available in three color variants, such as Starry Night Black, Aurora Blue and Dream Powder. It will be coming in three versions at the following prices:
- 4GB + 64GB : CNY 1598 (~$230)
- 6GB + 64GB : CNY 1898 (~$270)
- 6GB + 128GB CNY 2298 (~$331)
The Vivo Z3 is already up for pre-sale on Vivo’s official Chinese website and JD.com. It will officially go on sale from 18th of October. Stay tuned
