Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e – Features

Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S10 embarks the same quality and premium feel. It looks stunning with the new hole-punched display cutout, offers powerful performance, and shoots really great photos.

Display & Fingerprint

Samsung Galaxy S10 - Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED Display

The first most dramatic change is the new dynamic AMOLED Inifity-O Display with in-display camera and sensors. So, it offers a truly immersive display experience without any disturbances (Go away notch!). There’s no denying that Samsung holds the throne when it comes to displays. The Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e feature 6.4” (Edge), 6.1” (Edge), and 5.8” (Flat) screen, respectively. The display is the most color-accurate and offers peak luminance up to 1200 nit.

Thanks to the Dynamic AMOLED technology, the Galaxy S10 devices support HDR 10+ for an ultimate viewing experience while watching your favorite movies or TV shows.

Samsung Galaxy S10 - In-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor

It doesn’t end there. The front of both the Galaxy S10 and S10+ embeds the world’s first ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. While the OnePlus 6T and several other phones already feature this technology, Samsung claims that it is the fastest on the latest Samsung Galaxy S10 devices. That’s because all other smartphones use optical scanning, whereas the S10 uses ultrasonic waves to map the fingerprint and sends that data to the scanner. On the S10e however, the physical fingerprint scanner rests on the side.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy S10 - Camera

Both the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ feature a triple-rear camera system. For regular shots, it uses the 12 MP Wide Lens and a 12 MP Telephoto Lens for Portrait and zoomed-in shots. At last, there’s a 16 MP Ultra-Wide lens (123° ultra-wide view) that will allow you to take beautiful photos and panoramas of landscapes. On the front, the Galaxy S10/S10e features a single 10 MP Wide lens. While the Galaxy S10+ holds an additional 8 MP RGB Depth lens.

When it comes to video recording, the Galaxy S10 has reached a new height and is capable of shooting videos in HDR 10+. These not only look more dynamic but are also more stabilized. Just like the Neural Processing Unit, we saw in Pixel 2 and Pixel 3, the Galaxy S10 also embeds similar technology to help you get the best pictures in different scenarios.

And as said during the launch event – “What you see is what you get!”.

Performance & Battery

All the three Samsung Galaxy S10 devices use the Octa-core Exynos 9820 chipset and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset for the devices to be sold in the USA, China, and Latin America.

The Galaxy S10+ is powered by a huge 4100 mAh battery, while the S10 and S10e come with 3400 mAh and 3100 mAh, respectively. All the three S10 devices support Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, that can fully charge up the phone at up to 36% faster rate than before. With the help of the Machine-Learning technology, the S10 allocates the phone’s battery and CPU resources to the app or services you use the most.

Samsung Galaxy S10 - Battery Wireless PowerShare

The battery is a section where the Galaxy S10 has leaped ahead of the competition. That’s because, for the first time ever, Samsung has integrated the same technology they use in their wireless charging pads into the Galaxy S10. Which means you can now use the S10 to add juice to other wireless-charging capable devices including your smartwatches, earbuds, or phones.

Price & Color Availability

All the three devices come in four major colors – (1) Prism White; (2) Prism Black; (3) Prism Blue; and (4) Flamingo Pink. The Galaxy S10+ comes with two additional colors – Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.

When it comes to the price, the Galaxy S10e starts at $749, S10 at $899, and S10+ at $999 for the base 128 GB variant. For the Galaxy S10, you can get the 512 GB variant at $1149. As for the Galaxy S10+, you can get the 512 GB and 1 TB (12 GB RAM) at $1249 and $1599, respectively.

We just tried and cover all the major features and changes that the Galaxy S10 series offers. For the complete list of specs, you can refer to GSMArena.

Like any other Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S10 also comes with a set of fresh new wallpapers unique to the device. XDA’s Max Weinbach had some time with the devices and was able to pull all the stock wallpapers. A huge thanks to him and the XDA team for providing them!

Updated on 24 Feb 2019: Thanks to Abhijeet from SamMobile, we now have 10 additional stock wallpapers extracted directly from the Samsung Galaxy S10.

There are a total of 16 different wallpapers in an abstract design distinctive from the rest of the original Samsung One UI wallpapers. The vibrant colors of the stock wallpapers look stunning on the Galaxy S10’s Dynamic AMOLED display. Android Police even said that ‘The wallpapers try really hard to hide the display cutout‘ as all of them fade to black moving towards the top-right of the Galaxy S10’s screen. All these wallpapers are in 3040 x 3040 pixels (QHD+) resolution.

Below are the compressed previews of all the Samsung Galaxy S10 stock wallpapers you can download from here.
