This was a blissful year for Android custom ROM fanatics. One of the most renowned custom ROMs for Android devices – Paranoid Android, came back in the game a few months ago. Paranoid Android 7.3.1 Released – Features, Changes, and Improvements
With Android Oreo already released for the public and Android 8.1 on the edge, the PA team has decided to push the last build based on Nougat 7.1.2. The new build, as always, is bringing some new features and added improvements and fixes for the devices.
Slowly and steadily, AOSPA is bringing more and more international languages into the ROM. However, Paranoid Android 7.3.1 is all about two major things – New features and improvements in PA’s in-house Camera App and fix for the KRACK WPA vulnerability.

We recently saw a new Paranoid Camera App being introduced in the ROM, that brought a more swift user-interface and several added features in the default camera app for the all the supported devices. The current release has added more improvements to it, along with the all-new Anti-Shake mode in the camera app. Other notable changes and device-specific improvements are mentioned below (as stated on PA’s Google+ post).

Now that you’re aware of all the new features and fixes in Paranoid Android 7.3.1, let us hop onto the download links and instructions to install the latest PA ROM on your supported device.
The PA team is now shifting its focus to Oreo and have allegedly started the work on it already. You can track the progress over at AOSPA’s Github.
How to Install Paranoid Android 7.3.1
In order to install the ROM, your device must have TWRP recovery installed. If you still don’t have it, you can search for your device-specific guide in our database.
Download Paranoid Android 7.3.1
The latest update is only available for the list of officially supported devices mentioned below. If you own a legacy device that supports PA unofficially, you would have to contact the required ROM developer for merging the new changes.

Note that installing Paranoid Android 7.3.1 ROM on your phone will encrypt the device. If you need to stay unencrypted, then make sure to flash the latest SuperSU prior the first boot.
- Download the ROM package for your device from the downloads section above.
- [Optional] If you need Google apps too, then grab the suitable package from OpenGapps.org.
- [Optional] Download the SuperSU 2.82 SR5 if you wish to stay unencrypted.
- Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable and transfer the ROM, GApps (Optional), and SuperSU (Optional) zip packages to the root of the storage.
- Disconnect the device and boot it into TWRP recovery mode.
- Now, if you are simply updating to Paranoid Android 7.3.1, from the previous 7.3.0 build, then just follow step #7. If you’re making a fresh install or coming from another ROM, follow step #8.
- Updating/Dirty flashing
- Go to ‘Install’.
- Select the ROM zip file (e.g. pa_bacon-7.3.1-RELEASE-20171030-signed.zip).
Install Paranoid Android 7.3.1 ROM using TWRP - [Optional] If you wish to stay unencrypted, tap on the ‘Add more Zips’ button and select the ‘SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip’ file.
- Swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’ button to install Paranoid Android 7.3.1 on your phone.
- Once the flashing process is complete, press the ‘Wipe Cache/Dalvik’ button.
- Clean Install (Coming from another ROM)
- Go to the Wipe -> Advanced Wipe. Select the following options.
- Swipe the button on the bottom of the screen to wipe the device.
- Go back to the TWRP main screen and tap on ‘Install’.
- Browse the storage and select the ROM zip file (e.g. pa_bacon-7.3.1-RELEASE-20171030-signed.zip).
- [Optional] Tap on ‘Add more Zips’ option and add the GApps package and SuperSU package too.
- Finally, swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’ button.
- Go to the Wipe -> Advanced Wipe. Select the following options.
- After the process is complete, press the ‘Reboot System’ button.
Once you have installed Paranoid Android 7.3.1 on your phone, you can enjoy the new features like Anti-Shake mode in the Paranoid Camera app and also feel more secure while KRACK WPA vulnerability has been fixed for you.
As for the next build, since the team has already mentioned about working on Oreo, we believe it wouldn’t be long until we see the new Paranoid Android ROM based on the latest Android Oreo.
