    Hi Friend,

I’m an honor 7x user. (Honor 7x AL10) I bought the phone from India, and I just got to Canada and realized that this phone isn’t compatible in Canada because of the contrasting calling band frequencies (LTE). I came across TUTORIALS on how to enable multiple band frequencies, but in order to enable different bands, my phone needs to be rooted! Is this true?
So i understood the whole rooting process, but I was hoping if someone could guide me in getting the 16 digit unlock code in order to root the phone since the Huawei website/Customer support doesn’t offer it. Even the DC Unlocker website or it’s software has no spot for the Honor 7X . Any help would greatly help me in this foreign country. I’m currently handicapped without a phone.

Hi Cristi, I believe you’re talking about rebranding. Currently, I am looking into the same as there are several other users who are looking for it. I will get back to you as soon as I find something.

Until then, I wouldn’t recommend cross-flashing the firmware on a different model.

Hello, I have a Honor 7x with an China region EMEI (so i believe a China region Rom too )

If I follow this tutorial , will I be able to “install” an EU version of Android on my phone and therefore make update , go on internet etc.. as a regular Honor 7x from europe ?

Thanks you for your reply and tutorial !

I am quite skeptical about this. Though it should work in theory, I would not recommend you to do it. It’s better to stick with the ROM for your specific model number.

While lost data and ROM could be recovered, but if the IMEI/modem is lost, you will be in trouble.

    • Chris

      Mar 30, 2018

So if your phone is from China you can’t install an EU Rom ?

People said you will have problem regarding Update download and more (google play, internet…) if you stick to China model in Europe
If it is true , and that you can’t instal an EU Rom, it mean you’re basically screwed ?

      Thanks again

(P.s: Sorry for the previous double post , I thought an error was made)

    • Dhananjay

      Mar 31, 2018

Hi again, Chris. The firmware doesn’t rely on the device model. Any firmware could be flashed onto another regional model, but I don’t have enough proof to back this up.

If you’ve heard it from another user, then it might be worth giving a try. There shouldn’t be any harm done to the device unless carriers are involved. If you choose to try, do let me know the results. Good luck!

Oh, and not issues about the double post. I will remove one of the comments.

      Mar 31, 2018

      Hello again,
Well I don’t know much about Phone, only some people told me that buying a China phone would cause problem because the phone is in China Region , and that it couldn’t lead to no Update and other issue like this

Thing is, in my point of view, the phone is the same in EU and Asia , I thought only the Rom would be a problem and if we can change it up it would clear this issue
But since i’m not a pro at all I try to seek advice…

So actually I don’t know at all if we can install en EU Rom on a China EMEI phone (I don’t even know what EMEI really is), and furthermore if it will solve the Update problem even if the installation is a success.

If you know about this I would gladly take any information

In any case, I know a physical friend that will try to look it up for me and we will eventually try to Install the EU version of the Official ROM.
If we do this , I will let you know about the result and information I gathered.

Again, thanks for your time and replies

      Apr 4, 2018

      Hello again

So we looked up and after starting the phone he automatically updated itself into our language, even our time zone
Then after asking for update the phone just searched the last Android update and installed it (current one: BND – L21C432B124 )

So everything seems to work normally…

Don’t know if it will be usefull for you but at least you have some information to gather.

      Thanks again for your replies.
      Regards.
