Khoi
I’ve read your nice guide about “How to Manually Sideload OTA Update using Stock Recovery and ADB” at this URL:
https://www.thecustomdroid.com/sideload-ota-update-stock-recovery-adb/
So, if I have OTA .zip firmware of Mi A1, may I update it by using above method?
Dhananjay
Hi Khoi, theoretically you can use it. But unfortunately, the stock recovery in Mi A1 outputs some errors. I have personally tried and failed.
To add, I would suggest you use the fastboot method and just select the “Save user data” option located at the bottom of the Mi Flash tool. This will upgrade your phone to the chosen ROM without wiping anything.

Thank you for notifying. Since the fastboot ROM was available, the file author took down the TWRP build. However, I have now omitted the link to the TWRP-flashable ZIP provided by XDA senior member Sooti.
